Megan Tapley (She/They) is an emerging artist working at Gemini Arts. Tapley attended Clemson University and received her Bachelor of Fine Arts with a concentration in ceramics in 2024.
Tapley has always enjoyed the arts and spent most of her childhood in accelerated arts programs. Growing up, she has always had an interest in mixed media collage thanks to her close-knit relationship with her grandmother, who was a seamstress and scrapbooker. In her recent work,
Tapley combines these interests to make both two-dimensional and three-dimensional works. It is important to her that her work not only focuses on her struggles with identity, but also gives context to macro sociopolitical
issues as well. She achieves this by using metaphors and signifiers in the work.
Much of her work encompasses texture, pattern, and personal identity elements, and she hopes that her vast set of interests and skills can inspire her and those around her to become better versions of themselves.
