A lover of painting with acrylics and mixed media arts, a renegade sewist, a journaling poet, a graphics professional, and a musician, Elizabeth Leverton earned her master’s degree in writing and editing, and later, an associate degree in commercial graphics. In 2009 Elizabeth began teaching herself to sew without patterns, calling her functional creations “CrookedBags.”
She is part of a songwriting duo (Howdy Love), where she contributes lyrics and occasional melodies delivered in a beginner’s solitary strum pattern. Carl Jung’s work on Active Imagination inspired Elizabeth to revisit one of her earliest joys and she began painting again in 2018. Elizabeth began writing poetry thirty years ago, and her first book of poetry, Peace, Rhododendron, was published by Mind Harvest Press in 2023 in Columbia, SC. A more recent, home-printed chapbook regarding love and grief, A Mad Dash to Tell You, circulated in 2024. A new book of poetry, In Lithe Hours, is in progress.
