About your instructor
Jeanee has a BFA from USC and has been a professional artist since 1995. She was a live music artist for over 15 years performing on stage over 330 times throughout the southeast. Her artwork has been shown in 12 shows this year alone and in 100’s of shows over the years! She is a member of SC Artists, Kolag group, Invisible Artists, and Gemini Art Collective. She has been a member of numerous art groups including TAG, Crooked Creek, and Seven Oaks Art league. She has been art director at several art and music festivals and former president and librarian at Seven Oaks Art league. She first taught at Carolina Art Gallery; Marketing for Artists twenty years ago. You can follow her on Instagram @artjeanee.
Description
Explore abstract media from neocolors to acrylic painting, each week the instructor demonstrates techniques and starts the art dialogue to lead you to your own style. You can bring an image to explore or be inspired by the art surrounding you at Gemini Arts. Paint abstracts using mark making in week 1 and exploring texture in week 2.
Participants will need to bring a canvas or canvases. All paint and mark making material will be provided.
Students should bring acrylic paints, (or watercolor) canvas no bigger than 16x20, sketch or watercolor pad, paper towels, brushes, and whatever tools they like to use. Instructor provides pallete, neocolors, acrylic tools, golden mediums, finishing mediums, raw canvas, gesso, and for new painters use of acrylic paints, and deeper instructions. Come have fun and learn the mysteries of working in water media.
