Have you had a few art classes and want to improve your techniques? This is the series for you. Take one, more than one, or all classes!

WEEKLY WEDNESDAY ACRYLIC PAINTING CLASSES FOR MAY 2026

Instructor- Jeanee Bourque of Gemini Arts studio 3, will share paint, brushes, pencils, charcoal, and other mediums as needed.

Students should bring paints and brushes (if they have them) an 8x10 or similar size canvas for each class, plus a mixed media drawing pad. An apron and disposable gloves are recommended.

Class are offered either at 12-2pm or 6-8 pm.

Individual class is $45.

Week 1- May 6, 2026. Introduction to each other and the course

Discussion- Principles of Design and Instructor Demo

Lesson - Contour drawing with pencil or charcoal, followed by acrylic paint

Take away – Layout using Principles of Design; painting on canvas

Week 2- May 13, 2026. Quick review of Principles of Design

Discussion- The Elements of Art and Instructor demo

Lesson- Using the elements and the principles we will paint a floral still.

Take away- Balancing art and design for an impressionistic floral painting

Week 3- May 20, 2026 Review the principles and the elements

Discussion-Gray scale, Color Theory, Mixing colors and demo

Lesson- Blind contour drawing in acrylic paint, starting with grays and working into colors

Take Away- A unique painting that is about learning to build values, shades, and colors.

Week 4 May 27, 2026, Last class in Series Working in textures

Discussion- Using the Principles of Design and Elements of Art

Q and A -Problems in Paintings? How to fix them? Instructor Demo

Lesson- Layering various mediums and using textures in your art

Take Away-Each person is free to create what they would like.
